This is a poster for an comics exhibition in France.
The exhibition is from LES MANGEBULLES, an association of comics fans at Bagnères de Bigorre (France).
For this illustration, I took one of my "old" comics main character : Alice from the comics LE MIROIR DES ALICES. I gave her an armor and some wings for an angelic atmosphere. Here is my new comics called Le Bleu du Ciel - second volume (Soleil publisher).
It will be on sale the april 22th 2009.
The story is about a female vampire who live under the sunlight ! In the city of Providence, she’s waiting for the return of the Devil.
The demon shall come back on december 24th 2000, but he comes back on december 24th... 1997 ! In fact, our Christian calendar is 3 years in late from the real time between the birth of The Christ and the beginning of the third millelium. So the Devil is a nice and kind woman who wants to discover our world before choosing to rule the hummanity. But will the Demons of Hell be able to wait her decision all this time ?

My french publisher SOLEIL asked to me to make an illustration for an art book about sirens (with some other comics authors)
You know... I dislike the cliché of the genre: an angel with a white robe and wings, a devil with horns and forked tail.
I think it can take out of it.
So I decided to put my mermaid in a place untapped from mythology of this species: Science Fiction! Secondly, I waived him draw a tail. It was too light. Result, my siren will be the only in the book that does not have this famous tail ^0^
For the story, well, I let you imagine from by the title of the image ^0^. But I tried here to make a manga style for a comics project.

So the Devil is a nice and kind woman who wants to discover our world before choosing to rule the hummanity... or destroy it ! But will the Demons of Hell be able to wait her decision all this time ?”

The purpose of this comics is to manipulate the comon sense of our vision of Evil and Vampires. For exemple : Lilith is a very kind woman, who do not love gothic atmosphere. She's a vampire but she doen't hurt other people. Deborah (The Female Devil) is a philosophic woman who try to understand the people of Earth. It's not a simple question between good or Evil, it's more complex than this simple vision...

Nestiveqnen is a little french novel publisher.
Its specialty is publishing novels fantasy and science fiction novels. There are a few years ago, the company decided to launch a collection for young readers, called NESTI.
One of this novel was AXEL AND NOVA, 2 young adventurers in a post apocalyptic world who travel around the world.
The original idea of these novels was to make "manga style" covers, with my personnal touch.

Soleil Productions, my french publisher asked me to draw an illustration for an art book. The subject was : angels and demons.
I do not like the usual images of angels with wings on their backs. I think this is very common and cliché (that is my opinion of course).
I prefer to play with my favourite subject: the ambiguity.
Who is the angel where the devil in this picture? I ask the spectator, while leaving the choice ...

Oh one last thing: Do not ask me what are the red lines from the body of the beast, I do not know myself ! ^0^

This character is a elf girl who live in a virtual world. In fact, in the future, some sick peoples come to this virtual place to realise their own dreams, beyond the limit of their conscience and their vision of good and evil.
This is not like Matrix, it's not a "god against evil" world. This is an invitation to do some personnal introspection... Because in the most beautifull place, beyond your own dreams and nightmare, realities (regrets, fear, joy, hope, love, hate, despair, and so on...) are always the most powerfull to invite you to make a better life, no ?

I took only 2 days to do this illustration. That was so fast but it was the desire of my publisher too... The background is 3D.

Gabrielle is an Archangel... and a killer.
in the aspect of an innocent little girl, the archangel Gabriel becomes a killer for the Devil, after the fall of Paradise.

This is the pitch of my first comics sold in 2001. It's a philisophic and horrific story with gothic girls who talk about immortality, religion, their own future in a steam punk world a creasingly atheist. Action, gore, instrospection, zen, and so on, this is the cokail of this story.

This illustration is the cover for the second edition of the comics in 2003. I tried to draw it with my "old" style and it was not easy. But, well, I think the result is not so bad (but I must confess that I was not expecting to do something as gore ^___^

Satchy is a character from my french comics named LE MIROIR DES ALICES (published by SOLEIL PRODUCTIONS - www.soleilprod.com).
This character is a cat girl who live in a virtual world. She works on a library which contains all the memories of her world.
In the future, some sick peoples come to this virtual place to realise their own dreams, beyond the limit of their conscience and their vision of good and evil.
This story is not like Matrix, it's not a "good against evil" world. This is an invitation to do some personnal introspection... As you can see, the character design of Satchy is different from the illustration "Satchy in the Box". In fact, I draw Satchy with differents styles for some illustrations. Each different style have a series number, like in computer world. This is the last version, 3.0, of this character. Like in a game where you can change the settings of your 3D model character ^0^

Lay-Ing is working for the government of this world, she helps the newcomers. She is very gentle and kind but nobody know who really she is...

This story is not Matrix-like, it's not a "good against evil" world. This is an invitation to do some personnal introspection... Some people here maybe knows the famous french comics LANFEUST. This is one of the most famous french heroic fantasy comics since many years.
To celebrate this comics series, my publisher (SOLEIL) asked me to participate to a art book with several others authors. The subject was to make a tribute, a fan art, about the universe of this comics.
The last volumes of Lanfeust are in a scence fiction atmosphere. So I decided to take one of the female character of the comics (Cixi) and put her on a cyber punk universe like Ghost in The Shell !

This illustration is the final result.
Traditionnal drawing and computer colors for the characters, and 3D for the background.

Okay, the concept is a little weird, but, hey, just say it's a part of my french humor, right ? ^0^

For this illustration, I choose to put in it the main character Lilith (with the gun and glasses ^^), Charybde, one of the most powerfull demon of my comics, and Salomé, the cute little girl who serve Deborah, The Devil.
